I hiked in the Bechler Meadows for the first time this summer, and this awesome area of Yellowstone was worth the wait. In this picture, the Teton Range rises above the amber grasslands of the Meadows late in the summer. This photo was taken on August 28, 2009.

Bechler Canyon in southwest Yellowstone is jam-packed with incredible waterfalls. You just can't help but be awed! This photo is of Colonnade Falls on August 28, 2009.

This view of Phelps Lake, with the sky reflected vibrantly in the water, was gorgeous. I took this picture along the trail that ascends from the lake to the Phelps Lake Overlook on November 15, 2008.

It's tough to overshadow the Tetons, but the clouds manage to do just that in this picture, which I shot from Table Rock (Table Mountain) on August 9, 2008. Table Rock offers one of the best possible views of the Tetons.

I like this serene picture of a small ranch a few miles south of Jenny Lake, which I took on November 16, 2008. I like how the last light of the day is touching the tops of the Tetons, the definition that early snowfall has given the mountains, and the quiet setting in the foreground.

This was an interesting experiment in night photography for me. I framed Old Faithful below the Big Dipper and set my camera for a long exposure. Fortunately, someone shot a flashlight at Old Faithful, creating a truly unique effect. Unfortunately, some of the stars of the Big Dipper were obscured by the steam from the geyser. Regardless, I discovered that seeing Old Faithful at night is just as cool as seeing it during the day. This picture was taken on October 18, 2008.

I've hiked Mt. Washburn in Yellowstone a dozen or so times, and this is one of my favorite pictures from all those trips. I love seeing the rolling hills, the lookout tower on the top offset by the moon, and that creepy dead forest in the middle. In a sense, this photo also tells a story for me. I worked in Yellowstone at Roosevelt Lodge in 2005 and hiked up Washburn multiple times. This was one of the last. The change in colors and the moon rising over the image are symbolic of the end of the time that I spent in that area of Yellowstone. This photo was taken on August 15, 2005.
